EIGG
Building in remote places brings special challenges for clients architects and builders. On the west coast of Eigg Lucy and Eddie Scott have almost completed the building of their new house on a spectacular site looking over the sea to Rhum. It took 3 visits to Eigg and a long assessment of various sites before the present site was recognized as the best.

Though not a follower of Feng Shui principles there is no doubt that some decisions about place and context have much happier outcomes than others- without always knowing why. The ability to take time over decisions is crucial to reaching such happy outcomes and its fair to say that time rarely presses on Eigg. No one should underestimate the difficulties attached to building in remote areas and this house , now nearing completion shows how strong commitment from the client and builders ,working with our support, can produce a house of real quality in a remote location.
